Blue Hen Blend is named in honor of the state bird of Delaware, and is a classic blend of medium roasted South American arabica beans.
Packaged in a 12 oz. resealable foil-lined bag hand-tied with grosgrain ribbon.
I liked the coffee but it seemed a bit strong than what I`m used to. It was good coffee but just a little strong.
I have had the opportunity to enjoy many fine coffees, worldwide. Up until now, my all time favorite comes from Fortnum & Masons in London. One problem..very expensive to get. Well, problem solved. I found Blue Hen Blend coffee and it is absolutely perfect....it's flavorful, robust and rich with zero aftertaste. Not a hint of bitterness. I am absolutely an adoring fan and will be buying this coffee for as long as I can get it!! Oh happy days!!!
I am Italian and I was brought up on espresso and good, strong Italian coffee. I found that a lot of the stronger blends in the US have a bitter after taste. FINALLY I found a good coffee that is velvety smooth. The taste comes from good quality beans that are well toasted, not burned to give the feeling of strength! I can get seriously addicted to this coffee :-)
I recently went to the Winterthur Estate, and bought a bag of "Winterthur Estate Blend" coffee in their gift shop. Come to find out it was roasted by Pike Creek Roasterie. Wanting to see how I could by more of this blend, I contacted Pike Creek, and was told that their Blue Hen blend is virtually identical to the blend sold at Winterthur. This is my all time favorite blend, and I'm super happy to have found PCR!
